Livingston/Overton County Christmas Parade to Celebrate "A Storybook Christmas" on December 12
This year's theme honors Dolly Parton and her lifelong passion for literacy, and entries are now being accepted online and at the Chamber office
The Livingston/Overton County Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce that the 2026 Livingston/Overton County Christmas Parade will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2026 at 4:00 p.m., and that this year's parade will celebrate "A Storybook Christmas."
The theme invites the community to step into the pages of its favorite holiday classics while honoring Tennessee's beloved Dolly Parton, her lifelong passion for literacy, and her belief in the power of books. Dolly's Imagination Library has placed books in the hands of Overton County children from birth to age five at no cost to their families.
"We are proud to celebrate Dolly's legacy and the difference it has made for families right here at home, because a child who learns to love reading early is better prepared for school, for work, and for life," said Zach Stephens, President & CEO of the Livingston/Overton County Chamber of Commerce. "The Christmas Parade is a tradition that brings all of Overton County together, and we cannot wait to see our community bring its favorite stories to life."
Parade participants and businesses are encouraged to decorate their float and vehicle displays using inspiration from cherished holiday tales such as A Christmas Carol, The Nutcracker and the Mouse King, How the Grinch Stole Christmas!, Letters from Father Christmas, The Snowman, The Homecoming, or their own favorite Christmas storybook.
Applications are available online at https://bit.ly/livocparadeform, or participants may stop by the Chamber office at 222 East Main Street in Livingston to complete a paper copy. The entry fee is $10.00 per 16-foot space.
All entries must be received, with fees paid and parade numbers picked up in person at the Chamber, no later than 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Friday, December 11, 2026, and late entries will not be accepted.
On parade day, line-up will begin at 1:00 p.m. and all entries must be in position by 3:00 p.m. The parade will proceed in light rain or snow, and any cancellation or postponement due to severe weather will be announced by 12:00 p.m. (noon) on parade day through the Chamber's social media channels and local media outlets.
